Westfield Outdoor Tennis Academy
The newly rebranded Westfield Outdoor Tennis Academy, now in its 53rd year, is proud to invite campers aged 7 to 18 to the Club for another exciting summer of tennis! Led by WTC’s Junior Development Director, Lexi Borr, as well as a cadre of dedicated, experienced coaches, our summer camp – with 2-week sessions – is designed to inspire campers to achieve their maximum potential through our structured, yet fun-filled program. Expect your child to develop excellent strokes, improve their athleticism, learn to compete, and gain a lifelong love for the game!
Whether your child is a competitive player looking for intense competition or a beginner eager to learn, we have the program for them!
ACADEMY – AGES 7-13
The Academy program is for younger players ranging from total beginners to advanced tournament players. Beginners will focus on the basic skills and stroke development through specific drills and games. The more advanced players will focus on stroke development, shot selection, point production, and singles/doubles strategy. This program will use a combination of low-pressure tennis balls and real tennis balls depending on the players age, experience, and skill level.
HIGH SCHOOL PREP – AGES 12+
Formerly known as The Advanced Tennis Academy (ATA), the High School Prep program is designed for tournament and/or high school players who are committed to an intense daily training schedule incorporating on court fitness, drills, singles and doubles tactics and strategy, and competitive match play. Acceptance into the program must be approved by the camp director.
SKILLS AND DRILLS – AGES 7+
The Skills and & Drills program is designed for tennis players of any skill level and background. Players will learn fundamentals and improve upon their game through a variety of drills and games in a fun environment. This is a great option for kids that have other sports and/or camps in the morning but still want to play tennis over the summer!
2024 WESTFIELD OUTDOOR TENNIS ACADEMY SESSIONS
- Session 1: June 24th – July 5th (two weeks) Camp will not run on Thursday July 4th or Friday July 5th and will be discounted accordingly
- Session 2: July 8th – July 19th (two weeks)
- Session 3: July 22nd – August 2nd (two weeks)
- Session 4: August 5th – August 16th (two weeks)
2024 WESTFIELD OUTDOOR TENNIS ACADEMY DAILY SCHEDULE AND COST
Academy – $700 per session, 9:30am to 2pm Monday-Friday (lunch from 11:30-12:30pm)
High School Prep – $700 per session, 11:30am to 4:00pm Monday-Friday (lunch from 1-2pm)
Skills and Drills – $300 per session, 2:00pm to 3:30pm Monday-Friday
Camp tuition is non-refundable, except in the case of inability to participate in camp due to injury. Camp session change requests will be honored, if available.
Inclement Weather Procedure & Make-up Policy:
- In the case of definite rain, we will cancel camp prior to the start of the day. All updates will be communicated via email and text.
- In the case of unexpected rain during camp, we will use our clubhouse as temporary shelter. If the weather forecast shows passing showers, we will dry the courts as quickly as possible and prepare to play when the courts are safe again.
- If the forecast shows continued inclement weather, we will cancel camp and notify parents to arrange pick-up.
- Entire camp days canceled due to inclement weather will be awarded up to two make-up sessions during a different session. Please confirm make-up dates with our camp director and she will do her best to accommodate.
- Make-ups are not offered for personal absences and we do not provide credits or refunds due to non-attendance.
We realize some sports camps can be very expensive, so we’ve worked very hard to keep our fees low. We also offer discounts for the Academy and High School Prep programs if you sign up for three or more sessions.
