Looking to improve your backhand or develop a stronger forehand? Maybe you want to cultivate a more powerful stroke, fine-tune your serve technique, or focus on improving shot selection. Whether you’re interested in improving your physical game or enhancing your mental game, whether you’re a casual player or a serious competitor, the Westfield Tennis Club’s resident tennis pros, Frank Geiger and Gary Wasserman, will personalize your lesson to help you improve your tennis game.

A tennis pro in the Westfield area for more than 15 years, Frank Geiger has been Westfield Tennis Club’s own tennis pro for nearly a decade, instructing tennis players from a variety of ages and ability levels and tailoring lessons to best suit their needs. Frank, who also serves as our tennis program’s camp director, was ranked in the top 50 in the USTA Eastern section. He is USPTA-certified as well as PTR-certified and has coached various ages and levels. Previously, Frank served as assistant tennis coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University, the same college where he played as a student-athlete. Frank was also inducted into the Fairleigh Dickinson University Hall of Fame–the first tennis player to receive this honor.

Gary has been playing tennis since the age of 9 and was ranked in the top 20 in the state of New Jersey during his junior career.  He was also a highly ranked player in the USTA when he played on the James Caldwell High School Varsity Team. He has been teaching tennis for over 25 years and has been a certified PTR tennis instructor since 2002. He is also the co-director of tennis at Nomohegan swim and tennis club and is a senior tennis professional at Mountainside Racquet Club, where he provides children and adults of all ages private and semi-private lessons in addition to running clinics. He has been coaching varsity tennis for the past 13 years and is currently the Head Coach for the Millburn High School Varsity Boys Tennis Team. Gary has won a number of local awards including Tennis Coach of the Year for Union County in 2007, 2012, and 2013.
