Tennis Lessons:

 

9:30 - 10:30

Beginner Drills: A fun way to learn basic tennis skills. Participants work together to earn Grand Prix points, points will be redeemed for prizes on Color Day and Carnival Day.

 

10:30 - 11:30 

Intermediate Drills: An exciting way to re-enforce basic tennis skills and develop good sportsmanship as participants begin to embrace the competitive spirit of tennis.  Players form 8 -12 person teams and compete in a USTA Team Tennis Format.  Teams earn Grand Prix points that can be redeemed on Color Day or Carnival Day.

 

11:30 - 12:30 
Advanced Drills: 
Participants learn advanced strokes, footwork and strategy as they take their games to the next level.

 

1:30 – 2:30
Skills and Games:
An exciting and fun way for recreational players to sharpen there tennis skills, have fun and develop good sportsmanship. 


1:30 - 3:00
Tournament Training:

Tournament Training Program is designed for those junior players presently competing or wishes to compete in USTA tournaments, High School tennis, and the Summer League program.  The intensity level is high, with an emphasis on improvement rather than tennis as a recreational activity.  Admission is based on ability and dedication.  The program consists of coaching, drills, conditioning, and supervised play.  A tryout may be required to gain admittance.
 
11:30 – 3:00
Advanced Training Program
The Advanced Development Training is going into it second year.  This program is open by invitation only to a limited number (20) of advanced junior players who are committed to a serious level of competitive tennis.  However, in order of fairness at your request I will send via email a list of requirements’ for participation in the Advanced Development Training program.  If you feel that you are a candidate and have not received an invitation please fill out the requirement form and send it in for consideration.  I will review and consider any form that is submitted. 

A tryout may be required to gain admittance. Players chosen for the program must adhere to the following criteria in order to be considered for the program:

 
*      Active participation in tournament, league, and/or high school play (minimum of 6 tournaments per year are required to maintain enrollment) 

*       A desire to improve their level of play

*       A willingness to perform the conditioning requirements

*      Consistent attendance and participation

Ladder Matches: 

The WTC 2006 Ladder - will be posted in the clubhouse and on the website.
Divisions: B10’s, B12’s, B15’s, B18’s, G10’s, G12’s, G15’s & G18’s

 
 WTC 2010-Ladder Rules and Regulations 
  1. Matches can be either singles or doubles (doubles matches are only worth points).
  2. The ladder will be updated at least once a week.
  3. Participants may only challenge up three spots (points will be awarded for any match played).
  4. New junior members get three open challenges.
  5. You have two chances to accept a challenge.  If you fail to accept a challenge after two requests, you will be penalized 25 points per day until the match is played or loose your spot on the ladder.
  6. Winning a match is worth 100 points and you replace the person on the ladder.  Any matches played are worth 25 points (singles or doubles).
  7. In the case of a dispute Frank Geiger will mediate.  His decision is final!
  8. Awards will be given to the top three people on the ladder and the top three point’s totals in each division.
Note: Ladder matches must be scheduled at the clubhouse desk prior to play and all scores must be reported to the desk.

 

 

NJJTA Traveling Teams: 

 

The New Jersey Junior Tennis Association is comprised of more than 20 private clubs in central New Jersey.  It was established almost 50 years ago to provide a framework for tennis competition among the junior members of these clubs in both a team and an individual format. 

 

WTC participates in boy's and girl’s 12, 15, 18 and under Traveling teams.
The 12’s and 15’s teams consists of three singles and two doubles teams
The 18’s team consists of three singles players..

* Teams are selected through the use of the WTC junior ladder.
